Brandy

Welcome to Spirit Trail Adventures! My name is Brandy and even though I am getting closer to retiring age, I still hold the position of the Alpha female. I’ve earned this position because of my courage, wisdom and my never failing willingness to be accountable for my herd.
I am very proud and I do know of my power. I descended from the famous Man O’ War – the greatest racehorse that ever lived (www.tbgreats.com/bio.html) .
I teach people who ride me about living up to their highest potential.... because that’s what I do.

Sassy

Yeaha, I am Sassy and everybody tells me how beautiful I am. My favourite sport is eating. My second favourite activity is days off. But if my rider is able to accept my attitude and gets me out of the yard, I am actually a fun horse to ride. Ah... and if you would like to see me on TV, go to www.youtube.com and fill in the search box “moniquehaarlem”. For a small fee (how about a bag of crunchies) we can send you my autograph.

Rasza

Hello, my name is Rasza and I am an Arab. To this day I can’t figure out why I ended up being a mountain horse, because I actually don’t really like to roughen it. I have lots of style and dignity – clearly living up to my blue blooded heritage. However, if my rider treats me gently, I shine on the most difficult trails with my smoothness and elegance.

Musie

Hi there, I am Musie... and WHO ARE YOU??? I am the youngster of the herd, 5 years old and a Morgan. I LOVE to run with the wind and jump off cliffs and do other exciting stuff. New adventures and discoveries are my MOST FAVOURITE things to do. Only “real” horse people can handle me – that’s why I love my “Dad” Charlie so much.... he knows his stuff. I come for him whenever he calls me and I like to follow him around like a shadow... you know, just to keep an eye on him and to get him into trouble.

Dakota

Dakota is my name, I am an Appaloosa gelding. I like my life at Spirit Trail and my favourite mares are Brandy, Rasza and Sassy.  I pride myself of being the lightest neck-reiner of the herd. Therefore I prefer riders who treat me gently. Every now and again I am being told that I am a bit of a goof, but my real secret weapon is my tail. I could kill a fly on your cheek with one “swoosh”.... just walk by close enough, okay?

Dude

Hello, I am Dude. Charlie says he has never seen a taller Morgan before. He really likes me because I am gentle and so comfortable to ride on. I grew up on the Alberta Prairie and still need to learn a lot about mountain life. Sometimes I still act like a teenager.... innocent and yet a bit wild, even though I am 11 years old. But hey.... the girls like it...!

Marbels

Hi, my name is Marbels. I am a 10 year old Quarterhorse gelding and the newest “kid on the block”. I recently ended my career as a jumper. I like my more relaxed “retired athlete” life.... especially eating fresh grass and hanging out in a REAL herd of horses is great. I prefer light riders who treat me very gently – those are my favourites.

Royal

My name is Royal. I am a 15 year old Morgan mare and I am beautiful and in the prime of my life and I know it. If you can live up to my standards, great. If not, you might as well not waste my time.
I am a hard worker and very stubborn. And every now and again I wouldn’t mind running away to find myself a good, strong stallion, because my last baby was Musie and that was 5 years ago.

Drifter

Hello, have you got Crunchies in your pocket? No...?? Are you sure??? Let me “vacuum clean” you with my big, soft lips.... there might be something eatable and you might not know it... maybe an apple... No problem... I can find it. Just STAND STILL! I am Drifter – casual, laid back and ALWAYS in the mood for a treat. On the trail I am an anchor – I know my job and I simply do it.

James

James is my name. (Jim or Jimmy for my friends). I am a Belgium/Quarterhorse and together with my buddy Jay I pull the sleigh and the wagon.  I am also a great horse for trail riding. I usually take care of the “bigger guns”. Just don’t jerk me around and pull my reins too hard, okay.... because I HATE that.

Jay

Hello, my name is Jay. (My mom calls me Jay-Jay and she blows me kisses, which is a bit embarrassing). I am the other half of the team, but I also go out as a trail horse. I like to explore and check things out, but my REAL PASSION in life is WATER!! I love to drink right from the hose, I love to be bathed and I use every chance I can, to wade around in the pond to eat all the water plants.  No, I am not a moose, but a Belgium/Quarterhorse with the softest eyes you have ever seen.
